About Sweating Soap

Soap sweats for only two reasons:

a) You made the soaps, they were fine, you left them unwrapped to dry out and it started raining. If it rains long enough and hard enough all the moisture in the air reacts with the natural glycerine in the soap (which attracts moisture - hydroscopic) and the soap appears as if it is sweating

b) You made a batch of soaps, all of them were fine with the exception of a couple. This happens because of overheating. Normally when we melt soap the big batch doesn't overheat because there is lots of it. So those soaps you pour first are fine. At the end of the batch, where there is only a little soap left in the jug or pot and you remelt it one more time it tends to overheat, loses too much moisture which it looks for in the air later when it has set.

So, remember never to overheat your soap - when melting it should never steam or boil. Also, if the weather turns rainy remember to wrap all your soaps quickly so they don't sweat

Finally, you can wipe all the sweat off your soaps, wrap them and they will be fine. They are not lost, just need some fixing

About Discounts

We structure our pricelist in a way that products are discounted in larger quantities wherever possible. For example Farmhouse soap is cheaper when bought in 5kg buckets and fragrances are 50% cheaper when bought in 100ml and a further 20% cheaper when bought in 500ml. All oils are cheaper when bought in 500ml and then again when bought in 5lts. All salts are cheaper when bought in 5kgs and then in 25kg or 50kg bags.

We feel that staggering our pricing so the more you buy of the product the cheaper it gets is the fairest way to discount our products. This means you don't have to be a registered company to get the best prices we offer.

Staggered pricing on larger quantities is the only discount we offer. All those prices are available in the shopping cart on our website
